Presso is a personalized news briefing app operated from Vienna, Austria. We are responsible for the processing of your personal data as described in this policy.
Website: presso.at
When you use Presso, we collect account data such as your email address, user ID, display name, and, when provided by a sign-in provider, profile name or avatar URL.
We collect briefing preferences such as selected topics, selected country or region, language, local briefing time, onboarding status, notification preference, and playback preference.
We process app functionality data such as generated briefing transcripts, audio files, opened briefings, subscription entitlement status, purchase restoration status, and technical request data such as IP address, device or browser information, app version, requested URL, timestamp, and server logs.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use personal data for cross-app tracking or third-party advertising.
We use your data to create and deliver your daily briefing, authenticate your account, keep you signed in, personalize topic and country selection, provide audio playback, schedule optional local reminders, manage subscriptions, restore purchases, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and provide support.
The legal basis for this processing is performance of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), your consent where required (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving Presso (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Presso does not operate its own AI model. To generate concise news briefings, Presso may send public news headlines, public article summaries, source links, selected topics, language, country or region preference, and briefing instructions to third party AI and text-to-speech providers.
We do not intentionally send your email address, payment information, or account password to AI providers. We use third party AI and speech services only to provide the briefing feature, not to build an advertising profile or track you across apps and websites.
We retain account data and preferences for as long as your account is active. Briefing transcripts and audio files are retained while needed to provide current and archived briefings. Technical logs are retained only as long as necessary for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and legal compliance.
If you delete your account in the app, we delete your account data, preferences, saved briefings, and associated audio where technically possible, except where we are required to retain limited records by law or for payment, tax, fraud prevention, or security reasons.
Presso uses third party services to operate the app, including Supabase for authentication, database, and storage; RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for subscriptions and purchase restoration; Google and Apple for optional social sign-in; Google Gemini or similar AI services for summarization; text-to-speech services for audio generation; and hosting, API, security, email, and infrastructure providers.
These providers may process personal data only as needed to provide their services, secure the app, comply with legal obligations, or support billing and subscriptions. We require appropriate safeguards from service providers where required by law.
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can also object to processing, request data portability, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@presso.at.
The Presso website does not set its own cookies. The current mobile app uses local device storage for login sessions and onboarding progress, but the reviewed app code does not set advertising or tracking cookies.
Some hosting, security, API, authentication, payment, or infrastructure providers may process technical connection data such as IP address, device and browser information, requested URL, timestamp, and server logs to deliver the service securely.
